You Can’t Manifest a Life You Won’t Participate In

I believe in manifestation.

I believe our thoughts matter. I believe what we focus on expands. I believe our beliefs influence what we notice, what we expect, and ultimately what we create.

But I also think we’ve gotten a little weird about manifestation.

Somewhere along the way, it became incredibly passive.

Make the vision board. Say the affirmations. Visualize the future. Get your energy right. Ask the universe. Trust that it’s coming.

And then wait.

I call bullshit.

Not on manifestation itself. On the idea that we can somehow think our way into an entirely different life without participating in creating it.

Your Thoughts Matter, But So Does What You Do

I’ve been thinking a lot about the difference between imagining the future and actually creating it.

You can spend hours thinking about the business you want, the relationship you want, the money you want, or the person you want to become.

But none of those things exist in the future.

Your only opportunity to change your life exists right now.

That’s where manifestation gets interesting to me.

Because your thoughts influence your beliefs. Your beliefs influence what you notice. What you notice influences the opportunities you see. And those opportunities influence the actions you take.

That is where your life starts changing.

Not because you wished harder.

Because you became conscious enough to choose differently.

Pay Attention to the Stories Running Your Life

Most of us have beliefs operating quietly in the background.

Money is hard to make.

I’m not ready yet.

People like me don’t do things like that.

I need more experience.

I’ll start when things calm down.

What if I fail?

Those thoughts can feel like facts when you’ve repeated them long enough.

But they aren’t facts.

They’re stories.

And once you become aware of the story, you finally have the opportunity to question it.

Is this actually true?

Where did I learn this?

Is this belief helping me build the life I say I want?

And maybe most importantly:

What would I do differently today if I stopped believing it?

Manifestation Requires Participation

I still believe in dreaming big.

Make the vision board.

Write down the goal.

Picture the life.

Ask for more.

Believe that more is possible for you.

But then pay attention.

Have the conversation.

Make the phone call.

Take the meeting.

Start the business.

Apply for the opportunity.

Ask the question.

Do the uncomfortable thing.

The universe may put an opportunity directly in front of you, but you still have to recognize it and decide to walk through the damn door.

That’s the part of manifestation I think we skip.

Participation.

Your dream life isn’t something happening someday.

You’re building it in tiny decisions every single day.

So dream bigger. Question the bullshit. Become conscious of the thoughts shaping your choices.

And then do something about them.

Because you can’t manifest a life you won’t participate in creating.
